    Bombing Help

UGH! I cannot seem to bomb anyone. I'm starting to get good at missles and chasing and shooting guys down in the J-10 and F35 but I cannot bomb worth a crap. Any tips that can make me a half decent bomber?

Watch bombing videos and reverse engineer the bombing methods. Mark a key to look back so you can see where the bombs land so you can correct your mistakes.

IMO when in bombing mode the HUD seems to have been set up wrong as the bombs always drop too late,i find dropping them early is the key here,at first dropping them early is hard but at least you are half way there already, then its just getting better,i had the very same problem as you and asked for help a few times, people told me diffrent things but i found my own way ,by dropping them early, now i score a kill every time.
          Its ALL about dropping early.

do a nose dive... the steeper ur dive the closer ur bombs will fall together and fire earlier than u think. and practice and switch cameras so u can see where ur bombs land

Thanks Timewarp definitely going to sit down and read that when I get some time (probably tomorrow morning).

Thanks for all the tips guys.

Going to try the nose dive and early drop techniques too.

On the jets (all of them i believe) they have in the bombing reticule a line that moves to show your angle of attack, and then some U shaped line below it.

How you're supposed to bomb, is to line up your target to the point where the line meets the U shaped bar.

All this stuff you guys say is pointless. The true pilots dont rely on the visuals so much so. They feel the bomb. You need to get the feeling as a pilot. Sure you can keep lining yourself up with the lines, but when your comming in at a 90 degree angle no lines are going to help you. The same can be said if your trying to swing your bombs if your being chased during a bombing run. You need to feel where it will end up.

To this end you need to utilize your rear-view mirror and see where the result is when you bomb at different angles, speeds, etc.

You couldnt be further from the truth Masskiller.

The HUD can be utilized to make precision drops from 400 m altitude, just for example.

I can make drops from 500 and 600 just by feeling - its one of the ways to avoid J10's with the measly F35, Just dive down (a bit) towards the flag at a certain sweet spot drop and go. The HUD doesn't provide any formula for dropping it. Its all about feeling and logic.

If your not doing it on feeling, then chances are you arent naturally good with the jet. You're already worrying about things lining up in your HUD...

I highly doubt that you can drop your load from 600 metres onto a vehicle/station. Just because you cant see it. But back to your point. You CAN do everything naturally. But why not spend those first 100 hours in a jet actually HITTING something using the HUD, than just fly around and "finally" getting the grasp of bombing. High altitude precision drops can only be done using HUD unless youre divebombing at a very steep angle. HUD provides the most reliable source of aiming.

"Doing it by feeling" is just an excuse for not being able to decode the HUD. You can use the HUD to drop any way at any time.

I even have a HUD tutorial somewhere, if youre genuinely interested, I can show you.

Chris, it's easy enough to make high altitude drops (400-700), on stationary things, esp. J10 and Z10 spawns.
