I'm a commander on surge, we are winning 160 to 12 but in 5 minutes we put ourselves in position to have one flag left. Sure enough the other team attacks us with 2 tanks and takes the last flag. I am among the soldiers that die defending the last flag. While dead I can see on the commander's map that I have 3 more soldiers left, snipers of all kits while enemy is atacking us with armor. Guess what they do? They just sit hiding far away from all the flags and wait to snipe somebody?! On my several desperate orders with big capital orange letters to go and take any flag on the map so the rest of us can respawn, they do apsolutely nothing and continue to wait for their lucky shot. Of course we lost 4-0. Now can anybody believe this crap? N ow why would you be a sniper on a map full with armor? Further more even if you are a sniper, does that mean that you are not supposed to attack flags but spend the whole round on a tower or in a bush with 3-4 lucky kills at the end of the round?

I think snipers can capture flags as well as medic. Drop the claymores to spawnpoints and look around. Its very easy.
Even the sniper is the last man, he should try even capture flag, not camping.Comment

Snipers CAN be great at capping flags, a few carefully placed claymore should be able to hold of any enemy troopers and of corse there is always your reliable pistol. As for your problem with those sniper dont blame all of us because there are a few nub sniper who refuse to give up there postion.

I love assaulting flags with the sniper kit. One of the best kits to do it really(not the best, one of the best). I excel in close quarters sniping, and find it quite easy to take a flag by my lonesome.

I prefer to capture flags as a sniper. As I am capping, I drop a claymore or two and move to the next flag. If some poor soul tries to cap the before mentioned flag, I end up with a defend flag point and a kill.
Most likely what you ran into is a noob. They don't understand they have to get flags to win. They don't understand how to work as a squad as well. Then these are the same folks that come back and post that they can't score any points with there 10 kills in a round and no teamwork points.

Sometimes when I snipe, I'll get so into cover and concealment, I might end up being the last player alive and not realize it. Then you're like, 'Oh, Crap.', better try and capture a flag.
Maybe they just didn't realize it was the last flag. It happens.Comment

well when ur the last person..no matter wat kit u r...u wouldnt do anything too drastic. as u said, the enemy has all armor and even with anti-tank kits or spec ops kit, u dont stand a chance and tell me someone who is willing to attack a place where they kno the enemy commander is watching their every move and if they try to take a flag they automatically have the whole enemy team on them w/ artilleryComment

I capture allot with the sniper, nuttin like protecting yourself with claymore while that slow flag raises, but IMO they point hogs, stat freaks, just dont wanna get killed & on top of that they are waiting for spawn kills IMO.Originally posted by Gen.Vlade

First of all, I like the sniper kit very much too, but that was a poor choise for those guys. Different maps and situations require different kits. I for example change my kit at least once in a round depending on the situation.Originally posted by kmak60

It was pretty obvius that those 3 players were noobs that didn't understand what the game is all about beyond the individual points. I've seen snipers that finish a round with over 50-60, or even 100 points, half of them team work. On the other hand I've seen others that end up with 5 kills and 10 total points.Comment

With 3000 kills in 200 hours and with 0.4 K/D, I guess we can say that you are an expert when it comes to chosing the right kit. FYI snipers should have more kills than deaths, unless you go sniper on a map full with armor, which evidently you do.Comment
