game doesn't launch

I'm making this thread for a friend.. whenever he's on his laptop and he trys to launch Battlefield 2 everything seems fine.. he gets the first image that pops up that says battlefield 2 and has the tank on it but when it goes to full screen it just blinks black and goes back to the desktop and the game doesnt launch.. ive tried lowering the resolution but nothing happens, any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks

edit: i went into his properties and changed it so his game wanst full screen and it started at 800x600.. but now we get this error saying debug asseration failed.. failed to create d3d device

whats the Specs of the laptop,

more than likely its an onboard intel graphics which isnt supported by BF2
