BF2 startup fine, but cannot connect to server

Hi

I have a dual core system, 2gb ram, 512 Nvidia etc.
Startup of BF2 smooth as, I go to multiplayer and connect to a server, and I get pushed back to the gamelists. I try to connect again and the same thing. BF2 used to work, not it doesnt. Have disabled McAfee, my router f/wall, and the XP F/Wall.
Please help before I lose the plot all together.

have you patched your bf2 to the 1.41 patch from EA's website?
also check the tech FAQ in my signature.
