Why is my battlefield 2 lagging??!!!!??

    My system:

Microsoft Windows XP Professional Version 2002 Service Pack 2.
    Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 2.80GHz Processor.
    Nvidia GeForce 7300gt (256MB) 4XAGP Controller.
    1024 DDR SDRAM.
    MSI 845PE Neo (MS-6580 v5.0).
    1MEG LAN Broadband. (WIRED) (CABLE?)

I have all the ingame settings set to LOW!!!

The lag can get so bad the i cannot play and have to disconnect from the server and this is with 15-40 ping servers. Sometimes it will lag every so often and its always when im getting shot at which doesnt help at all.

Well the 1MB connections is like the 56K used to be its not meant for online gaming of games nowadays, also that system is holding you back too.

You can try and tweak windows and also scan you system for viruses, malware, adware to try and improve things.

You need 2MB MIN! to run BF2 to a good quality or your lagg and get "there is a problem with your connection" messages,

Pc isnt great either, but mainly Broadband try getting more MB

        Hope this helps

1MB is perfectly fine, actually. BF2's minimum is 256kbps.

Eliminate all background process, run a system scan, defrag your hard drive, reboot, try again.

if not, GET PCIE, that AGP stands for BOTTLENECK

dont get me wrong, its good enough I know someone who plays that has a worse computer. with NO lag.

I play on a 1.25 ADSl and my pings are usually 25-80. I wonder of the 4x AGP slot can be opened up to 8x. That couldn't hurt.

Sorry to say it m8 but you have a 7300gt coupled with a gig of ram. youll get away with a gig of ram but a 7300gt is more suited to a media system, upgrade that and youll be sorted.

You want atleast a 7600GT but i would honesty go for the 320MB 8800GTS or GTX if your on a budget.

I've had similar problems with lag and updating my systems and cards and such seem to have helped it the most.
