BF2 math problems?

Correct me if I'm wrong but I'm at Gunnery Sergeant and the pt. requirement for my next rank is 20,000. I almost have 9,000. (close enough to 10,000 so we'll just call it 10,000). But it says I only have like 4% of the 100% to rank up.

he has 1,000 out of 12,000 needed for advancement. if you have 9,000 you should be 8.33% there.

Edit: nvm I Saw his sig he has well less then 9,000 I just assummed he had 9,000.

That site apparently shows the percent of your progress from current rank to next rank. So, you need 12,000 to get from Gunnery Sgt to the next rank and you had about 500 points above 8000 so you had about 4% of what you needed. Based on your sig you now have 10531 so (10531-8000)/(20000-8000) = 0.21 or 21%. BF2s on the other hand shows percentage of total so you should show about 53% there.
