Hi

Back a few weeks playing again solo (not in a squad )

Hit Captain today Woot.

Now my Question to you wise ones is....

Are cheats still rampant in BF2? I left about 18 months ago some of you may or may not remember we had a cheating epidemic and basically it hacked me off! ( no pun intended:)

I don't cheat, and would like your opinions on whats the state of play as recently im suffering alot of 1 shot kills.

Is punkbuster still working? Do ranked servers run em?

ive never really had any problems wit cheaters. alot of their scores have been reseted but cheaters will ALWAYS still exist.

and 18 months ago..i dont remember a cheating epidemic, but alot of servers now have punkbuster streaming or smething like that.

i think the streaming thing servers got going is called punkbusted and loads of servers run it...it definitely decreases the mount of cheaters imo...i havent seen alot of cheaters lately...but i guess it just depends what servers you play on

Cheats are rampant, a lot more so now than 18 months ago. My best advice is to play on a Punksbusted streaming server, like ours :) and if you suspect a player politely ask the admin if they will PB SS them for you, I know we don't mind and I'm sure a lot of other streaming servers will do the same.

I've experienced MASSIVE cheating lately. I play a lot of i/o servers and literally see hacks every other round. Yesterday I was 'kidnapped' and 'raped' three times by padders prior to disconnecting. Capt.HKS is right. Find servers which give a damn about cheaters and play on those. "Ragin Rebels" is a great one.

Right so its just a case of clicking punk buster on filters when i select server?

^ alas no, because it's only any use if the sever's admins keep their master ban list up to date.

For example, I saw a bunch of burza* clan, f1r3starter included (all 2-4 star generals) on an IO server the other day, all with silly kdr's (all about 75-6) and pulling off silly shots. I did a google search on "burza* bf2" and found that one of their "4 star" comrades - jojosurma - had been punkbusted on 3rd August for hacking, but at the same time i could see from the game monitor page that he was currently playing. So that server which i believe was punkbusted, cant have had the MBL list up to date.

Edit: and I agree with Capt.HKS, hacking is common these days. I've been playing for over 20 months and I never saw *anything* suspicious in the first year. Now i play less hours per day than I used to, but see blatently dodgy stuff all the time.

Lately i've seen more glitchers then cheaters, for example: I was playing Road to Jallabad yesturday and I came across a player using the rock glitch, but I totally foregot to take a screenshot, and when I remembered he wasn't glitching anymore.

Off topic, but ConscriptVirus, you have a spelling mistake in your sig. Should be "Breathe", not "Beathe". Just a heads up if you didn't know already lol.
