    Relaxing battlefield

I have recently just been devoted to BF2, and i find it quite tiring (im not over weight lol) just when i play its generally constant running quick reactions and so on.

Is there a way to play bf2 calmly? the closest i have come to this is defending a base and waiting for people to come.

    Anyone else have any ideas?

Yeah I find it tiring, but that might be because of all the angry shouting/throwing objects across the room.

I wouldn't say commanding is relaxing, unless instead of playing fair and supporting your team you go and eat sendwich and rack up the free points at the end. If that's the case I doubt that your team will win anyway, or at least you won't stay as commander for too long.
I play commander a lot, and it is probably the most involving position, watching the whole map, watching every move that eerybody makes, defending flags when your team is busy and even taking over flags by yourself. But on the other hand I'm a fighting commander, not some sissy that hides somewhere and lets everybody else do the work. The only thing I stay away from while commanding is planes and choppers.

The first few replyers were 100% correct. The most relaxing would be playing sniper, which still doesn't mean that you have the leasure to loose focus, but you can still stay calm, stay cool and search for your perfect headshots. It's quite fun.

Oh really? So what are you supposed to do when somebody is taking over your flag and you have nobody to defend it? Just run away? The only rule I respect is no flying commander. No fighting commander is bs and I'll never be a hiding commander. Me fighting doesn't mean that I don't support my team, on the contrary. That's why I said initially that a commander is the most demanding and involving position I'm playing as, far more involving than a medic or a support or any other class.

                    ...!

well if i have an uncap i'll sit in there as engy, fight off any spec-ops if any.

but it'll be a nice relaxing round looking at the commander screen, rather then my usual run in, jump and dive everywhere AK blaring, knife swooshing, defibs charging etc

i agree with you when you say defend a flag, example if i'm PLA on wake commanding i'll sit close to airfield and defend that with mines to help my team out, but i don't actively go out of my way to find a fight

i agreed with you with only one thing that is try to save the game if you are the only one left... but as long as there are soldiers still alive on your side you should commant til last moment...

Oh no I won't search for fight, but as you said defending the airfiend on Wake from 3,4 or more enemies and you are all by yourself is more than enough fighting. Also if I see enemy flag sitting undefended for a while while your team is busy fighting for another flag, hell yeah I'll go and take it by myself. My victory depends on that.
I've been kicked with the comment " no fighitng commander" while defending a flag and defending my own life for that matter. That was the stupidest thing and rule some admins can enforce. Then I went back, applied for commander again and wrote "pls don't attack the commanders, they are not allowed to fight back". When I got kicked again I gave them the finger.

                            Flag nanny.

A bunch of well placed mines will do wonders, just sit back and relax as the kills come up.

Or anchor the flag with C4 and wait to it nearly caps (making sure that others can spawn and try to defend it themselves), then once clear of all friendies, blow the stuff.

Heh I know what you mean by this... after staying on the edge of your seat running, gunning, driving, scrapping, etc you are... exasperated.... so you think, hey maybe for a round or two I will just hang back and chill a bit. Of course, that does not work because soon you see a flag going down or whatever and bang! Back running and gunning.
