    Annoying lag at round start

For some reason, Whenever I join a server, it's silky smooth for about a minute, and then it starts stuttering randomly to the point of unplayability for about 2 minutes. Then it's smooth again. I don't know why this happens, and it only happens after I join a server. If I am playing on a server for a while and then go to a second round, it doesn't stutter. Is there anyway to fix this? I mean it isn't that big of a deal but it's still annoying. Otherwise the game works great.

    Specs:

    AMD Athlon 64 X2 4200+ 2.2Ghz
    1 GB DDR2 RAM
    7200 RPM HDD
    Visiontek Radeon X300
    Windows XP Media Center 2005

And don't tell me my card is the problem, it can run the game with 70 FPS on low settings.

its the 1 gig of ram you have you need 2 gigs for that lag to stop.

Or get an X-Fi soundcard, My lagg @ startup is pretty much gone. Even with 1GB of ram. This card has his own cpu to render the sound. So you get a lot more performance in game and a better sound quality..

the startup lag is normal. sometimes i get a tiny bit for 2-3 seconds even tho i have 2 gb of ram. the stuttering is windows moving stuff unrelated to BF2 off ur ram onto ur harddrive (pagefile) and more BF2 stuff onto ur ram, so ull hear some chunking in ur harddrive

Alright I guess it's fine then. No big deal. Other than that, the game runs absolutely flawlessly. :yay:
