BF2 Doesn't work after 1.41 patch.

Hi all, this is driving me crazy.
I install bf2, no patch, it plays just fine. I install the 1.41 patch, splash screen, black screen, then back to desktop. Someone help me with this one. I have tried:
-Re-downloading the patch
-Re-installing bf2 (only works if update isn't installed)
-Re-installing the patch
-Re-installing my video card drivers

Did you also tried updating directx and audio drivers??
