^ Maybe it was a placebo, but my friend was AFK in an iceworld 1v1, and I took the liberty of experimenting knife kills on him. The knife headshots killed instantly. Knifing to the back took 2 hits.

Aiming for the head isn't any different in Source. In other words, you can't get knife headshots in Source like you can 1.6. The only one hit knife you can get, is from behind using the right mouse button. NEVER left click your mouse in a knife fight.

Scenarios:

Killing someone who doesn't know you're behind them in one hit.

Ran out of ammo in CQC.

As fast as it may be to run with you're knife or pistol out, you should never do it. You'll get yourself stuck in some bad situations that way. I find it easier and more effective to just reload my pistol, though. I never knife unless I know I get the kill with out taking damage. Then again, I don't pub.

Right click from behind always kills in one hit, but other than that go with what dudbomb said.

right click to Stab then quickly left click for a slice, that will be a 2 hit attack, executed in about 1 second. it kills them all the time no matter howm uch health or armour they have, and aiming for the head is pointless unless you're gonna go lefty

yup the best way is to just go in a empty server with all the people you want to add then hit escape and go to Player List and add them all

I think when you are adding friends, the friend that you are trying to add has to be logged in.

Wow, you read my mind. I was going to write exactly that.

Works best from behind. If you have a pistol, empty the clip so it's about to reload. When you get into a knife fight, lob the pistol at them and go in for the kill.
