the evil taunt laugh, after a bazillion hours of bf2 I finally heard the eerie spotting laugh, at first i thought it was someone on VOIP but i was alone in my squad, was on jajalanade (seriously I was the only one with a rilfe) spotting the bouncing support whores spamming nades from the US uncap picking them off with the L96 (god they fly when hit with a sniper rifle at the top of a jump) when suddenly a loud deapthroated mwuahaha ensues, scared teh **** outta me, hey it was dark and late. No 2142 is not installed (have it but it blows chunks) and i signed up for vet program but it screwed up and used my acct i don't play with so those are not requirements, i may have heard it before but probably chalked it up to yet another 9 year old on VOIP.

Scared me the first time I heard it. I thought it was VOIP but I wasn't in a squad. Happened while I was a sniper also. I was about to take a shot at someone but I had a feeling I should spot them first because I wasn't gonna' hit my target. It all happened so fast.

I've heard it a few times since.

I don't have 2142 so I guess that plays no part in the laugh.

ive never heard it, and im pretty sure i signed up for the veteran program. Does your volume have to be way up to hear it?

you dont need to be signed up for anything....just spot an enemy just when they die, they'll hear the laugh,

You don't need 2142, or sign up for the vet program to be able to do it.. it came with the 1.41 patch.


It happens when you are like about to spot someone, someone kills them, then you spot like the millisecond after they die.

I hear it the most as commander when I spot and enemy that has just been killed on the command screen, the rest is when spotting as a sniper.

If you spot someone right as they get shot down it will almost always happen.
