See, this isn't a realistic portrayal of a dogfight.

Rather than there being 0 lag and a few bullets doing amazing amounts of damage to a plane, as they should, you need to keep a good rate of fire on target to quickly down an enemy jet.

This means, firing your guns infront of the enemy jet, and having them run into it, only does minimal damage... not enough to take it down.

There is no point, and it is very hard, to keep leading your target around a turn... so I recommend getting behind the jet in bomb mode, and firing bursts into his engine.

Works for me.

Is it possible to destroy Jets with the tank's MG? Notice I said "destroy" not hit. I've destroyed plenty of choppers with the MG while hogging the tank for myself, but no jets yet.

yeah its definetly possible, not practical though. Yesterday i went in for a low swoop on a tank on wake (outa bombs), and he ripped me from 1/3 of my health with his tank MG.

APCs and mobile AAs die very easily to jet cannons. For tanks it's best to slow right down and pump 25mm rounds into the rear tracks, where you will cause the most damage. It takes 140-250 rounds to kill from full health. 4 strafes on a stupid tanker should do it. If they're an engineer they usually get out and repair. Bad move.

Actually, only Neptune answered my question about tank MG's. But I didn't know that Jet cannons can rip through the tank hides. Harrumph!

Oh, it depends on the number of hits you can land. If you can sustain a few rounds to their cockpit, they drop out of the sky. F-35s swoop very low sometimes (when raping J10 spawns especially) and they occasionally get taken out by a tank or SRAW/ERYX.

Oh Ive seen some crazy sh!t in my time. Even made a thread about it. How do you like to get peppered to red armor withing a few dozens of seconds in a middle of a fierce dogfight with another jet, by what would clearly be a 50 cal from somewhere you cant even see it.

Thats what I need. I usually get mad at planes, park the tank besides some hill or building, click F2, and start shooting at everything that flies.:p

You know, when youre at 300 ft altitude, making mad turns, loops and rolls, and you see your armor getting lower and lower and finally reaching the red zone, you have to ask yourself- "WTF?".

The conversation we had about that convinced me that it wasnt an aimbot though.

cars did alot of damage to me before, if shot from behind, didnt know the tanks gun could damage that much? impressive shooting.

Thx all for help, i think ill next experiment shooting from above the target at cockpit.

I have tested tho, shooting top of wings on a turning target does minimal damage.
My friend was next to me on pc and sometimes shots on wings did only 2 bars damage.
I think i will find an expert and watch them on the recorder see if any other tips i can pinch :p

they're still the enemy no matter where they are on the map.
