bf2 and vista mid spec rig

Hi Guys

i just wanted to post to save some time for some peeps.

my specs are

shuttle xpc sn21g5
amd 3500+
2 x samsung raided 0 250 g hdds
2 x 1 gig corsair ram set at t1
msi 8600 gts

I know there may be a bit of a bottle neck with my processor but i thought i should post that i have given up playing bf2 with vista and finally got round to dual boot with xp home. is really worth it if you have a mid range pc like mine. i have been fiddling and fiddling but got sick of the choppiness and decided to partition with xp, now runs as smooth as butter all on high aa on 8 and loving it.

don't waste your time fiddling with this and that and other tweak drivers, if you are having probs with vista and bf2 with similar specs, do a dual boot, will save u time.

This kinda post isn't good.. some people have good performance with Vista just depends on hardware and what drivers takes to your hardware better. If your having issues perhaps you should try different settings and setup's, but it seems driver support is catching up so don't miss lead people into thinking Vista is the culprit only.

amazing though isn't it that there are so many posts about vista and bf2. i am not anti vista, i really like it as an os but it doesn't like bf2 on my computer. I am trying to save people time who have a similar spec to mine, that's all. :salute:

vista needs much more RAM then XP does, vista has much more of a interface then xp does, its Eye-candy which is why people say it plays games choppy, its just the ram is struggleing, im on a amd athlon xp 1.2ghz with 1gb ram and a nvidia geforce fx5700le and have tweaked my system and i can play with 63 bots, all settings on high and never is choppy now, but im glad you have Bf2 working smoothly :)

Dnd 2gb isnt the best for vista, the pc that i shall be getting will come with 4gb
