reinstalling problem

I have to reinstall BF2 but after the InstallShield wizard runs I am back at the desktop. This happens if I use the Autorun after inserting the CD or if I access the CD and run the setup program. I cleaned out all mention of BF2 from the registry. Any ideas?

wait im confused, you mean you go back to desktop when you start the game from autorun?

I am trying to reinstall BF2. The InstallShield wizard comes up and runs but then I go right back to the desktop. Noting is installed.
