    Choppy gameplay, what's wrong?

Hi, I've been playin BF2 for about a year on a non suppourted GPU (Quadro FX 500 128mb), then I got a GeForce FX 5700 128mb for free so I installed it. Although it is a "supported" card, I still have the same choppyness i had before. Here's my specs:

    Dell Precision 360
    P4 2.8 Ghz
    512mb Ram
    Leadtek 128mb GeForce FX 5700

    Any advice to inprove gameplay?

As far as Nvidia cards go the FX5700 was the bare minimum for the game (will play on a FX5200, but even worse). Also only having 512mb of ram is really hurting, you need at least 1 gb to smooth things out.

I have a 512 stick in my basement, just not sure if my dad will let me put in in the computer, would 1gb ram and a FX 5700 improve choppyness?

Not EVERYTHING is a driver issue.
When was the last time you removed your fan from the heatsink??
I am not saying this is your prob....... but please EVERYONE asking questions....... open your PC REMOVE (yes remove the 4 screws) the heatsink fan and clean out all the dreaded (heat conducting dust) It works wonders!
Do it now! No piont in saying 'but my PC used to do' without it running at optimum :)
You might get a surprice, even all the techies lol

                          which drivers are u using?

if ur running on all low, remember to have everything that can be set to OFF is on OFF. I think there was one setting like Dynamic Lighting and u can set it to low or off and i once set it to low by accident and it really killed my game play (i had a fx 5200)

and in any case, 512mb ram is really low and i hope u get that stick to work. but u can also try my guide about using 1.4 shaders (its #4)
