Re: The L85: Inconsistent Results
I think it's an on and off weapon because I hopped on a server and tried again, couldn't hit the broad side of a barn.

Same here. I like the full auto feature for close combat even though for medium and distant targets I only fire short bursts.Leave a comment:

I find one main advantage in using unlocks, once you get good with them then you can have the same weapon no matter what side you are one.
I think we lal know how controversal the l85a1 is, i get GREAT results with the gun and prefer it over the g36e due to its full auto.Leave a comment:

Re: The L85: Inconsistent Results
The distance I'm talking is Surveillance Post on Sharqi, hitting people at the TOW from the road next to the alleyway. Probably the only gun I've used in this game where the crosshairs are easier than the scope. RPK is better though.Leave a comment:

Re: The L85: Inconsistent Results
Doing a burst wont really help coz the 2nd+ shot(s) will go strait to hell. Or heaven for that matter. 20 meters is really short distace really. When i use the L85 i tend to stay something like 50+ meters away from where the fighting is.Not at all. A 2 shot burst hits at up to 20 in-game metres (like across the Surveillance post on Sharqi), that's all you need to kill as well.
Don't bother going full-auto at range (as in holding the button down). What I mean is full auto mode, not actually shooting in full auto. No weapon in BF2 really caters to fully automatic shooting at range, except the RPK.Leave a comment:

g3 is an excellent weapon but the small magazine is a handicap imo , always end up dead when fighting multiple foes which doent happen as much with 30 round mags of other weaponsLeave a comment:

well her's my .02c , IMO if your gonna talk about the best, sing, semi, or what ever in assault class the G3 takes the cake. next to that the G36C (1st tieer in spec ops) is very nice too, tied wiht the F2000Not at all. A 2 shot burst hits at up to 20 in-game metres (like across the Surveillance post on Sharqi), that's all you need to kill as well.

Re: The L85: Inconsistent Results
Let me put it this way.. L85 on semi auto is the best assault riffle in the game (tied with AK101), while L85 on semi auto is the worst and the most innacurate weapon in the game. The first shot will hit, but after that you wont hit a crapLeave a comment:

Re: The L85: Inconsistent Results
Have fun
You can time the shots with it just as well on auto.
Anyone else notice being calm when using that gun? I mean, in close range I can just sit back and empty a clip while daydreaming and kill a few people, but with every other gun, it's the standard running around like a headless chicken.Leave a comment:
