Game crashes after a few minutes

So, Battlefield 2 always seemed to work fine, but now it has started crashing at random times during a game. It always crashes though, not just sometimes. Im running my fans on highest settings too. It can be 2 minutes, or crash at 2 hours. When it crashes the screen freezes and whatever sounds are in the background (artillery,tank etc.) play over and over for about 5 seconds, then it crashes to desktop. If it matters by disk is kinda scratched up.

I have tried:
-Updating PB
-Deleting Profiles
-Deleting Cache
-Deleting LogoCache
-Re-installing Game
-Re-installing Patch
-Patching to a different patch, and then re-patching.

Specs:
-Intel core duo 2.8 Ghz
-Nvidia 256 MB 7600 gs
-250GB Hard drive
-1 GB Memory

well have you tried different drivers for you 7600? might help

try running memtest on your memory(might help)

and I know there are multicore patches for AMD, but if there are one's for intel, DL those two as they can help with games

Go Start -> run -> "dxdiag" (without the quotes), then save the info somewhere and upload it as an attachment, this will help us. Also what are the temps of your computer? You can download Everest Home Edition 2.0 or Motherboard Monitor to find these out.

Okay so I re-installed the game, and I am using the really old drivers that came with the card. Still crashes, so I think it's not the game. Is there anything that could be wrong with my computer that makes it do this?

nah its something about game
my BF worked gr8 untill today when i installed collection pack
now when i try to make online accaunt it crashes

So about an hour ago I unchecked some thing in the sound settings in BF and turned the quality to low, and it didnt crash at all. I think my comp couldn't handle the sound? IDK BF2 is ****in weird sometimes.

UPDATE**

So today it went back to playing sounds over and over then crashing to desktop.

Any other solution out there. Like the renaming files thing or w/e? (how do you do that?)
