    Re: Seat switching a glitch?

The reason asked is cause someone from EA says its glitching.

    agntsmithcff:
Seat switching can also be considered a glitch. When you switch seats, the chopper begins to rotate for a reason. It was supposed to be so people couldn't jump into the gunner seat while flying and use the TV missle, and I'm assuming that has something to do with the reason listed above. The fact that people are able to use macros (or just get really fast with their fingers) to counteract what the spinning is supposed to prevent means that people are circumventing a piece of coding that is supposed to make that impossible. This can be compared to being able to glitch into a building allows people to get around coding that is supposed to make the walls inpenatrable. Glitching into a wall is grounds to have your account reset (actually any type of glitching is grounds to have your account reset), so I would think twice before using any other glitches.
    agntsmithcff:
You are still counteracting the feature that is supposed to make it impossible to do. That qualifies as a glitch.
If they really would reset someone for this i would be a private for life.

so bf2 was supposed to be realistic i dont think that seat swaping should happen. but i think that dice should of made that if there was 1 in the chopper you couldent use the guided rockets but you can still use the gun. also any1 that seat swaps aint a team player if you were you would pick some1 up to gun.

        It’s not a glitch.
It’s the same with other two seats vehicles.
When I’m alone in a tank I often switch to the mounted machine gun when engaging choppers.
It gives a better chance of survival when you have no one to back you up.
And it takes some skills to do it right in a chopper.

did you ever notice that the Eurocopter Tiger HAP on EF drops a lot faster??

I played EF tonight, first time in a long while, anyways anytime I switched seats, if the shot was a bit long I would still get the kill but when switching to pilot
seat the helo would already be almost unsavable. I had to compensate by flyin alot higher than I usually do, which I dont like to do. I still dont know how many times after switchin back to pilot I would be in a complete nose dive and I would be like "Oh sh!t" and couldnt get it pulled up LOL

It drops faster because it's nose heavy, not because the timing is different. :)

I definitely would as well, but I don't play for rank so ultimately, it wouldn't affect me in the least.

well how do you know they haven't tried to fix it? maybe they cant cause its in the backbone of the vehicle code. (any modders?)

TBH i don't know, but you cant say things like, if they haven't fixed it its not a glitch - they haven't fixed a lot of things still or maybe they cant fix it

Plus there is no way in the world a programmer will predict the full usage of the game mechanics after 2 years of release

Im not saying its a glitch, but everything has its own perspective from each side.

its not a glitch, it was present in BFV also. they had their chance to fix it if they thought it was wrong.

                        Re: Seat switching a glitch?

i'm sure most choppers have cross systems so in the case of the something happening to the gunner then pilot could still fight on.

likewise if the pilot becomes unable to fly the gunner should be abel to take ober instead of diving to the ground

                        so imo, not a glitch

yeah, I did say that when I switched back to pilot seat the helo was in a complete nose dive I was smart enough to figure that much LOL but the first time I ever flew it was yesterday so I didnt know that till then.

There is no perspective: if they can limit the spinning time to 4-5 seconds, they can reduce it to 1 or less, effectively eliminating 90% of soloing applications instantly. The public relations officer(s) at EA like giving you stories but the reality is, they don't want to remove it.

It's a pretty sweet heli though, right?

I'd love to have it in vanilla...

I believe that there was one of the patch that made it almost impossible to solo, then they repatched and made it easier again. I can't remember the patch numbers, but if we dug back far enough into the history of these boards we would probably find it. So I believe they put it back in for a reason, to keep people happy, they can't spin forever like it used to be.

Whoever told you that is speaking horse****. You can mod it so any seat switching results in a helicopter on the ground, which is what they did in PR.
