o wow i think i totally misunderstood ur poll. i thought u were asking whether an assault rifle was better or the MEC spec ops gun. its a carbine btw.

It's a carbine, the thing is drastically smaller than an AK-47, shoots a smaller bullet and was originally intended for Soviet paratroopers and special forces.

the one thing i've learnt about wikipedia, as good as it is, it can be edited by anybody know thinks they know better

the AK-74 is the assault rifle that fires a special soviet round just smaller then the 5.56mm

the AKS-74U is much much smaller, it is the carbine version of the 74

Just like the M4 is the carbine version of the M16

There are several assualt rifles in this game:

M16A2
AK-101
AK-47
F2000
G3
G36E
L85A1

Assualt rifles are ONLY availabe as assualt or medic.

Seeing as the AKs-74U is a spec ops gun and therefore not possibly an assualt rifle seeing only medic and assualt have assualt rifles and spec ops have carbines... it is a carbine.

Mostly an assault rifle kind of person by trade, but on a feel preference, if it's not the G3, then I prefer either the M4 carbine or the SCAR carbine over most assault rifles. Btw i was a little confused as to which way to vote with this, because i never ever use the AK-74U. It's awful (in my opinion), I just can't get the hang of it.
