  • help with crashes in bf2 please

ok here goes... im hoping someone here can help me solve my problem...

i get random crashes in bf2 (only in bf2) happens quite frequently... sometimes 2 to 3 times in an hour or sometimes im good for a few hours of playing. game crashes in 3 ways... either it will crash to desktop without an error message or with an error message saying something blurb about Memory.dll... or it will completely crash the computer and i get the blue screen of death saying on the bottom "beginning memory dump"...

I also updated my video card drivers, my bios and chipset drivers...

i removed my soundblaster card and switched to onboard audio... still crashes...

i ran memtest86 and it did not find any errrors in my ram...

i guess ill be stuck reinstalling windows and seeing how that goes... anyone have any other ideas before i reinstall?
    any help appreciated...

download, software, update, Microsoft, product, computer, PC, Windows, Office, server, MSN, Live, game, Xbox, security, driver, install, trial, preview, demo, popular

      Try this.

Install Visual Studio C++ Express from Microsoft.
Once installed, you'll need to update it.
      Backup the bf2.exe file.
AS ADMINISTRATOR (or it wont work and you'll get an error in the cmd prompt) Start ->Visual C++ 2005 Express Edition ->Visual Studio Tools ->Visual Studio 2005 Command Prompt
Navigate to your Battlefield 2 directory.
If you don't know how to navigate in DOS, follow this:
      cd c:\Program Files\ "ENTER"
      (c:\Program Files (x86)\ ENTER in vista 64)
      then "cd EA Games" ENTER
      "cd Battlefield 2" ENTER
      NOW WRITE THIS:-
      editbin.exe /LARGEADDRESSAWARE BF2.exe hit ENTER.
Should come up with a Microsoft copyright or trademark thingy. This means success.
      Write exit and hit ENTER
