Having trouble launching BF2

Hello gang. I haven't been able to launch bf2 since wednesday. I was working perfect tuesday night and when I tried to launch it wednesday evening I says
BF2.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

So far I rebooted several time and even uninstalled the game and reinstalled it again.

I'm not sure where to go with this next.

Hmmm...

I'm not sure what may be the problem and you've already attempted the obvious fix and it seems to have failed so here are some other thoughts:

Update video/sound drivers.

Check your directX version.

Go to PB and update it. (don't think that is it though)

Complain to EA if that all fails?

I'll post back if I get anymore ideas... Maybe try a defrag? I think that'll clean up your HD a bit... And check backround programs.

Try a system restore to a date prior to Tuesday night. Try to select a date at which you knew for sure BF2 was working.

Finally..........got it going again. Not sure what fixed it because I reinstalled direct X and did a windows update. I also updated my video driver.
