I just bought BF2 today after enjoying a month or so of BF2142 play. After the full install of BF2 and all the expansions I went to play online. After I typed in the correct information for creating my own account for online play I got an error that said, "There was an error connecting to a socket."
My first thought was that my firewall was blocking the game from connecting to the master server so I allowed BF2 for use on my firewall. That didnt work so I decided to open up all the ports for the game. That didnt work, and I was stumped for a little while. I then decided to put my router in the DMZ. That didnt work so I connected my modem straight to my computer and to no avail that didnt work either.
I cant think of anything else to do to fix my problem, any thoughts?
