Re: Do hardware bans exist?
Yes. They're crappy because they're easily bypassed.
What they need to do is lobby the GFX card manufacturers to stick a blockable signature in the GPUs. Hence, in a few years cheaters will be restricted to only 8xxx and x2xx cards. Can't imagine Crysis 2 liking that.

you'd expect them to use the same sort of component matching/id string assigning algorithm that MS uses to prevent you from legally transfering your copy of MS office/xp/vista from one computer to another.
you'd expect that, but i suspect PB lacks the money and clout to get away with doing what MS does.

Hardware bans - bans by hardware on a pc some cheats are getting around it.
Guid bans - bans by PB guid only way to get around that is to get a new cd key code.
Some cheats are getting around hardware bans and that is only a small few, If you believe what you read on some of the cheat sites then you have to a right muppet, We are talking about about people who cheat at a computer game so how truthful do you think they are. we are talking about the same peopel who stick CD Key stealer trojan inside hacks
The last time i checked the rpi on PsB we had 3523 players with hardware bans and out of them there was only 693 hardware bans for BF2 after digging deeper only 12 of them had got around the hardware ban, and that 12 will be getting a guid ban very soon
Do not believe what you read on cheat site as all of them are just full of BS.........
