Binoculars....

In the game it says that you are equiped with binoculars. Now in all my time playing the game, ive never used them or seen anyone use them. Do they even exist?

They are in the code, but had been removed for release. There is also a laser designator but they never worked out the kinks in it.

you can find them in mods, IE project reality-point of existance. but not in vanilla or any produced by dice/ea

yeah i think they figured that binoculars would never be used becuz the view distance is really limited in alot of the maps. Project reality has increased this view distance in their mod so the binoculars actually come in handy. and snipers who, im guessing, were orignally suppose to have the binoculars would prefer to use their sniper rifles as a binocular instead of the binoculars since u cant shoot with them

they also did not add in the M82 sniper rifle that is also in the code. Tbh i think a semi auto .50 cal sniper might have been abit too overpowering so i guess thats okay. I would have though that 2142 would have been improved so that you could use bino's and some sort of laser designator, which i think, would have been cool.

well the m95 is also .50 and i think the guns mounted onthe jeeps are also .50 which are automatic. but the thing is that theyrenot kills in one hits which makes htem fair and i also think , based off of America's Army, you cant really fire accrautely the M82 repeatedly

I dont really care much about the graphics. Even if they did add the laser designator I think most of the time the pilots would not bother with it and they would have a problem if about 5 targets were called a minute.
