    Ak>M16>G3>F2000

    That's my preference.

Best preference is, "don't play assault;" especially when a medic has almost the exact same weapons but "infinite" life.

I know you want to make the game challenging or more elaborate, or whatever.

My best tip would be to learn how to use smoke effectively. No one does, and I don't know for sure how to use it effectively.

But it is the assault class "special ability." (or whatever it's called).

I use my smoke as a decoy POP smoke run in the opposite direction.. It has saved my *** many times or ill pop smoke and HOPE the enemy is waiting for me to come out of it as i TRY and flank him.

I can't supply any tips of my own because I completely *suck* at assault. However I have seen some other people play the class really well, repeatedly, and here are some things they did in no particular order:

        1. Always kept moving. Even when capping a flag, they were shuffling from side to side, crouching, standing, constantly! Never stood still.

        2. They had mastered the strafe-prone thing.

        3. Travelled in packs. Or squads I should say -- acting more or less as a team. Imagine that.

        4. Weren't out in the open too much. Although these guys moved around a lot, from flag to flag, never stayed still, I never actually saw them very much. At least until it was too late, haha! For me that is. Maybe this is a completely different subject, but they were able to conceal themselves very well. And I rarely saw them in vehicles either.

Anyways, I know that is not much to go on, and maybe it speaks less to their skill than to my lack of it, but there it is. I think I will try assault myself later on and see if I can get my k/d above .5 or so. :shakehead:

          Re: Any assault tips?

Well I've been playing with the assault class lately and can give you some sound advice with the weapons. The stock weapons are the best (imo). When playing the assault kit remember to take cover as much as possible. Armor in BF2 is only helpfull in 1v1 situations. One of the most helpfull tips that I've learned when using the GL is aiming for walls. If an enemy is standing by a wall its much easier to aim for the wall than the ground beneath their feet. In CQC the assault class is pretty much unbeatable. Always try your best to get as close to the enemy as possible. The assault rifles can take down 3-4 guys in one clip. Always keep the GL loaded, it will save your life more than once. All in all just play smart and remember you were placed in the game to be a killing machine. Dont be afraid to get into the action. Leave the distance fighting to the snipers....you should be the 1st into combat. Most of your opponents should be no less than 30 meters away. Oh yeah......please learn how to toggle between fire modes. You definitely need single shots for anything above 50 meters.

The G3 is quite popular, the best assault player in the world uses it.
I myself favor the m16 whenever I can and the AK/F2000 otherwise, the M16 isn't as powerful but its way more accurate and you can take on the best AK'ers when you get the hang of it. The only advice I can give is use every assault gun you can till you find one your comfortable with and use it, hopefully it'll have a GL because the grenade launcher is immensely powerful and you can take out squads, bunny hoppers and pretty much any ground unit once you get the hang of it.

I like the F2000 and it's sites. G3 has some balls, just no grenade attachment.
tru the g3 really lacks there.. no backup weapon after that 20 round clip is spent other than pistol which doesnt work out well at all when theres more than 2 guys to deal with:shakehead:

Stilla, if you want, come hang out with me for several rounds. I have become an exceptionally dangerous Assault kit player, often getting the highest score every round, beyond pilots. It is nice to see another player leave those medic point whoring days behind them.

                  Re: Any assault tips?

G3 is my favorite gun in the game it does not need any add ons. the auto fire is good for CQC and it is very accurate in single fire and the bullets do alot of damage. The grenade launchers are ok personally I think they are useless once you get used to the G3 but a tip for those is in aim mode each one of those bars represents 10 meters when you have the bars lined up on the horizon.

Get the G3 and you will be fine.

Like others my tip is in regard to weapon choice.

MEC/Chinese: Use the AK. It's the second most powerful assualt rifle next to the G3, full-auto is great, GL included and it's pretty darn accurate.

American: Use the F2000. Not only is it more powerful than the M16 but I think it's better at close range given the full-auto capability. The scope kind of sucks IMO but the GL and Flashbang compensate for this.

AK101/F2000 for rambo, M16 and G3 for the tactically minded.

                        Which are you?

you should be doing all of that with any kit you play, especially in enemy territory, IE capping a flag. of course quick on the draw helps to, checking every section of your screen every second to avoid getting jumped.

I know, but for me it is easier said than done. I guess I am just a hamfist or whatever, I always end up pressing the wrong key if I try to do anything too quickly! I am embarassed to think about how many times I hit "E" while in a tank, rather than "W"....

But yeah your point is a good one, thanks!

                              Re: Any assault tips?

Use cover- Too many medics switch to assualt and try going out into the street. Oooop, I don't have any medic packs. Use walls, sand bags, and boxes. Get used to the quick crouching up and down while firing behind cover. Just get bhind cover and tap crouch quickly. You will get a second to shoot and then you will be behind cover. It will be hard for you to be killed.
Dead body camp- If you just killed someone then whip out the grenade launcher and cover the body for a few seconds, you can often get two more kills when a medic runs in for the revive.
Stay with squads- A lone assualt isnt't too good. You need backup and other people to reinforce your attack as you barge in.
Don't forget that smoke grenade- Smoke grenades and flash bangs can often be used to get an advantage over the enemy by impairing them visually and then storming in while they are thus impaired. You can also throw a smoke somewhere to create a distraction, opponents often assume that people always run through smoke grenades. If you loop around the smoke you can catch enemies with their backs turned.

Those are some tips closely associated with assualt.

                              Cheers
