but with bombs, i dont think its the speed of the bomb falling that kills the preson. its the explosion, and i think the explosion of a bomb would be the same no matter how fast it fell? dont kno for sure cuz i havent taken phyhsics yet, but it sounds right

Theres things like tank main gun, missiles and artillery that base a lot in kinetic energy IRL. Like have you heard of depleted uranium shells? Theyr heavy and when shot with great velocity hit into hard solid object it releases loads of energy..
Well your right in BF2 the bombs are just conventional explosives and I think all you can achieve by releasing bombs with high speed is accuracy on fast targets...
kinetic energy would only matter if you were trying to penetrate armor or bunkers. if theres a single guy running in the desert and you drop a bomb on him it doesnt matter how much kinetic energy the bomb has its gonna kill him. on the other hand if your trying to hit a bunker buried 30 feet underground your bomb is gonna need a ton of kinetic energy to penetrate through the ground then through the bunker before exploding. but in bf2 i dont think it matters.
As far as I can tell from what I see in everyday gaming, the game engine shouldn't need to model kinetic energy: none of the ingame effects needs it. Splash damage is set as it would not change so much with speed, direct damage is set for the same reason.
It's more likely that the engine models momentum, 'cause it's obviously needed for movement and shooting. Maybe just speed, but I'd hope for at least momentum.
Where are the coders? PR coders should know how the physics work.
I think the closest it gets to modeling KE in weapons is that bullet weapons can lose damage over long distances because of lost velocity. I think they may only use it for pistols and shotguns. Whether it follows a realistic formula is another matter (I doubt it). The fact that a vehicle that is barely moving can kill you suggests that KE isn't modelled well there either.

For jet's it is best modeled with the J-10, it has so much energy you look it in the eye and you die, but if you look at an F-35 in the eye it crashes and burns.

Yes, a faster moving vehicle causes/receives more damage than a slow moving one. That's why you can't run over guys from a standstill, or why driving a damaged car into the front of a moving tank can blow yourself up.

You can also die from vehicles sliding down a hill so slowly you can barely see them moving.
