Next Release

I have been keeping up to date with the next release at the dcon site, but there is little mention of it here. Is there a reason for that?

Most of the BF2 crowd has moved on, and given up on mods in general. It would still be good to let everone know the amount of work your doing. From what I have read, the next release (due soon) is going to be nothing short of amazing. Maps, Lag tweaks, stattics, sounds (including new iraqi voices) , the whole enchilada. :salute:

Well just an update to this thread. RC4 is now at RC4.1 all things are going well.. Lag issues seem to be alleviated. Come to find out it was an issue of detail layers. For those that dont know what this means.. Detail layers are used to texture maps.. Apparently we had some extra ones which created a new atlas file.. SO instead of the comp reading from 1 atlas file for the map it was having to swap out files from 2 atlas files. This causing some lag. Also collision meshes were optimized a bit and the extra polys removed on the factory and the hangar. We have to relightmap a couple maps and get the next patch for RC4.1 out and give it a quick test. However the patch is imminent. We'll take a few extra days or so to get the patch ran through well and we'll get it out after that.. Not much longer.. I'll have a further news update just before the patch and talk about future updates and patch tempo schedules.

Whats your problem? I didn't say anything about not enjoying DCON.. I really like playing it.. head on over to the CAL forums and read up on the amount of players in that competition league that are upset about its support, I'm not the only one disappointed. I hope they do get the patch out and it really brings players to support it, but I just said I'm done with it as in keeping a server up. No need to give me lip on what choice I make, as it seems the choice you made was to be a jerk.

The topic was about the "Next Release". I wasnt giving lip on what choice you made, just for throwing your unrelated issues onto a positive thread. Theres enough crap being thrown at hardworking people without derailing the one good thread.

There has been plenty of support, but kids that hang around on cal forums are just as lost as anyone is. Other than working for , and adding in changes that the fans ask for.

I just hope they dont listen to hard, and quit on those of us who care!!!

fair enough..... but most of them including myself over on CAL are middle aged and have been around long enough to understand "hardworking" people are indeed trying their best.

There was a problem and they're fixing it....so sorry that they cant coincide with you busy schedule....quit making it out like they're delaying the patch on purpose, honestly your pissing everyone off, Myself included.

OK guys. Say your good-byes and be done with it. The patch is coming soon, and we'll have plenty of other servers to play on.

No prob CATIA.. no disrespect to the DCON dev's or anyone else.. I may put the DCON server back up cause as a member of |D| We do appreciate a good game to play and those that put the work...

Guess I'll see how it plays when its patched and decide from there.

sure looks like it... but whatever floats your boat.. guess I'll sleep at night now.
