This is driving me absolutely insane. Recently every time i run (attempt to run is more appropriate) bf2, it crashes at the splash loader screen and a window saying "Protection Error, Error: 103", this happens from fresh install from the original disk, I've patched to 1.41 and the same error occurs, I've made a full backup of the dvd and that won't work either, I've removed every piece of dvd/cd burning/emulation/reading software I've ever installed and it still won't work. On my 8th reinstall currently and after removing bf2 from my hdd manually (following ea's guidelines) nothing. On and Admin account before you ask and I've updated all security measures for my user ect. Completely stuck, I'm not sure what to do if the disk won't work from a-fresh. Would help if i knew what error 103 meant. Any help would be gratefully appreciated
