Sudden lag

I was playing the other day all high pinging about 40 and having noo lag what so ever. But now all of a sudden its taking longer to load game and join game and everything is more unresponsive. Even when i turn the game off it takes for ever for the music to go away. I haven't changed anything in my computer but its going a whole lot slower now. What should i do?

Specs: 2GB RAM, 8800GTX card, e6600 core 2 dou, 160GB harddrive, 650w PS 680i MB

wow, thats wierd make sure nothing is overheating in your PC, it shouldn't take you long at all to get back to the desktop lol...

There's not much way to be positive, but I am leaning toward a hardware problem. Everything you describe is the same as if you were not running enough ram. Could some of your ram gone bad? Or maybe just some cleanup may help...defrag, dump temp files, run malware scan. SOMETHING has changed, but it could be a number of things ...maybe even a driver update is needed. You'll just have to make a list of possibilities, and eliminate them one by one. Sorry, but there are enough possibilities, that it would be hard to be much more specific.

wow thanks so much... i just looked at my specs and it said i only had 1 GB of ram. strange eh. I turned off my computer opened it up took out both sticks and blew on the then put them back in. Just for good measures i put in 2x i gb sticks i had in my other computer which i think are not powerful enough to make a difference but still its better than not doing it. I turned the comp back on and looked at the specs and it says i now have 2.70GB of RAM. thanks to much.
