System Req?

Well i bought BF2 a couple days ago, i started on single player for a few games to get the hang of it and it was running perfect without a skip or lag on med-high settings. As soon as i hop online its a massive lag fest, and i cant play without my settings on low. On low though the game runs fine without any lag at all, but on medium settings its horrible. I have a 3mbps cable internet connection.
Is this normal?

System Specs:
AMD Athlon 64 3000+
1GB RAM
GeForce 7600 GT

aye that patches have added so much to the game its a pain to keep up with, get another 1gb stick of ram and things should be fine again,

still even with a gig, you should be able to play all medium and even a couple things on high I did when I had a gig and it ran fine.

Thats what a couple other people said, made me wonder and thats why i asked.
I check my processes and there isnt anything that dont need to be there, only other thing i run with it with is antivir/firewall/xfire/ and whatpulse (key recorder (not logger :P).
