Low fps on modest rig

Hi I play with everything to the max except no aa, and I only get 15-30 fps. Am I getting the performance I deserve?

P4 3.0ghz
1.5g ddr pc 3200
7800gs 256mb

nah. that's about right. bf2 isn't really cpu intensive. in HEAVY pop servers/firefights/arty strikes, you'll probably lag somewhat.

that's not a bad rig for a two-year old game. you should expect visible lag, though, under the above conditions.

Its perfectly playable but I keep reading about people who have lesser rigs than me having a constant 40fps on the same settings, and yes I only play 64player servers.

wat sound card do u have? and wat are ur sound settings?

Conscriptvirus has been correct about the sound driver issues before. Its something to look at.

1) check the different refresh rates at the setting (1280-1024) and see if that helps
2) lower audio quality to medium....it still will sound fine
3) if you can, also use Software setting in the audio setup not hardware
4) turn off every background process running in windows that you can
5) clean out the junk from pc (caches, cookies, temp, temp internet, and clean out the registry) all this will slow down performance
