Servers have ridiculous ping in browser.

Whenever I'm browsing for servers, the lowest ping is somewhere in the 400 range, is usually in the 1000-2000 range and sometimes reaches as high as 5000. Whenever I try to connect to a server, I always loose connection while it verifys client data. I'm running my game from the Complete BF2 Collection DVD, I've updated Punkbuster and Battlefield 2 to the latest version, SF and both booster packs have been installed (and the 1.41 patch was run after they were done installing) and the only program of possible concern I have running while playing is Steam. I haven't checked my firewall, but I didn't have these problems yesterday.

I played a few games, which were fine, then installed SF and the booster packs, then installed 1.41 again, and after that those errors started appearing, if that helps.

dude steam eats up a TON of bandwith. anything that connects to the net, CLOSE when playing. that should help alot. now me, i have the same problem but i have nothing BUT bf2 running, no viruses, and a fine computer. now wtf is my problem!?

^ CTRL + ALT + DEL. (Manual)

Go to processes, order all the processes by username so the ones flagged with your login name (on the computer) shows up. End all of them except taskmgr.exe and explorer.exe.

5ooo? Thats whipped cream. I've seen as high as 26ooo ping in my browser and these are my low low ping servers I love to play on too that report these insane pings.

I even play in the game with 1ooo+ ping sometimes. I kill a guy once with 5oo-8oo. LOL

LOL! I had 350 Ping.
My Logitech Wireless Mouse battery died.
Damn it lagged.
I crashed with dropped bombs and I died, But I HIT THE JACKPOT!
I killed ten people in one spawm point.
