BF2 Crash (when I try to load a server)

Yeah, I just installed the new 1.41 patch and BF2 was working great just on the original patch and now everytime I try to join a server, BF2 just minimizes to the desktop and disappears.

I don't get an error nor did it take a long time to recover from each time.

I tried 2 times already and idk what to do....

And btw, I joined a server that had original maps, I think the first one I tried joining was Wake Island 2007 and the other was Strike at Karkland.

Does anyone know what I should do about this?

My Specs: just in-case someone needs this:
1. AMD Athlon 3800+ CPU
2. Sapphire X-1650XT video card
3. 1 Gig of Corsair RAM
4. Asus M2V Mobo
5. 450 Watt PSU

It might be your ram but I had the same problem. You ARE going to have to do a manual uninstall and then reinstall. Just go to :

hmm odd that happens to me when i play 1942 but not bf2 so if its the same thing i guess its not a ram issue

drivers drivers drivers

could be video, sound, mouse....etc.

drivers are the number 1 cause of bf2 crashing. everyone yells ram but to tell you the truth 9/10 it is really a driver issue

upgrade your drivers....if that doesnt work then start rolling them back to older ones. i upgraded to the lastest nvidia driver 168. and it was horrible, so i went back to 91.42 and it works again.

try different drivers until you find what your system likes, cause each system is different that is why there is no one simple crash fixx

THANK YOU! it works installed force ware 91.47 instead of 93.71 and reinstalled bf2 after manually removing it and it works now
