What do I do on vehicle-dominated maps?

I got the game yesterday and I'm having a blast so far, but what do I do on maps (usually ones with a large amount of players, such as Gulf of Oman) where (almost) everyone has a vehicle? Most of my time in those maps consist of me walking around until I either get blown up by a tank, artillery or a well-placed bomb from a jet. I've tried to wait at the vehicle spawn points until somebody spawns in so I can be a gunner while they drive, but the only vehicles available are the cannon-fodder vehicles (like the Chinese buggy with a seat for a gunner) that are good against infantry but are worthless against the tanks and APCs the enemy has. Any tips?

unlock the M95?? ok no dont do that, find a large map with a smaller amount of players, a full server of 64 players everyone is going to be fighting over them, on those servers go AT or spec ops and show them why its bad to get in a vehicle while your around just go to a server with like 20 or so people and your bound to get a vehicle pretty fast, but make sure you practice on single player first, noone likes to line you up for a TV missle only to get wasted and find out you didnt even know what that was.

My advise on large maps is to pick a "hide-able base" and defend it.
Like construction on Gulf of Oman. You can hide in the construction building or on the tops of the buildings east of the construction building. Something like that.

You want to stay in cover and not be walking out in the open. Let the enemy come to you if you are at a disadvantage.

OR, get a good vehicle.

Play single-player and fly the choppers and jets. Or man the tanks until your comfortable enough in the, to play online. There's nothing worse than an incompetent gunner or pilot wasting the most useful vehicles in the game.

Either that or master the AT or Engineer class.

I've been spending a lot of time as AT and Support lately. AT to be on the front lines tank-busting, Support to resupply the guys doing the first thing. And I've found that a full PKM drum will make choppers think twice. It's not the same as a "fitty," but it does a decent job of acting like one for long enough to get them to go away.

Why do you say that? Does the M95 have armour-piercing capabilities that the M24 doesn't? From what I've read, all it has over the M24 is that it can pierce glass. I'm not sure if that's worth an unlock.

to TK your teammates for the chopper, you can do it by all means, but admins etc will probably kick you, or people start a TK fest back

practice on sinlge as said, then get some friends on xfire or something that know how you play, and then squad up and play together

If I were you welp, I'd try and go into the online servers that have just enough people to get a round started. I like to be the guy that kicks everything off, making enough people for the round to go live. Usually takes 6-8 people, depending on whether or not its a 32 or 64 sized player map. The less people, the more chance you have at getting a vehicle. Just have some fun with less populated servers until you get the hang of everything. Then go into a server with 64 people and show 'em what you got!!! :nod:

Yes. People don't realise, but the most powerful vehicle in the game is not a jet, or the cobra, it's the humble DPV.

Go Spec-Ops, stick as many C4s as you like (spread them around the vehicle but ALWAYS put 2 at the front - ALWAYS), and switch to detonator.

It's your choice to live and get another buggy - restricting you to 2 C4s per jihad-jeep, or die like a true warrior of Allah and be blessed with 15 virgins, uh, seconds and 5 extra packs of C4.

get yourself a tank and if choppers go for u shoot them down its really fun with the M1A2 firing the main cannon. lol

Just use the anti-tank kit like the other 63 people on that server. Once a tank pulls up to your base, you and your teammates all fire your rockets at the tank and destroy it in a second.
