Installing SF

I already have BF2 installed and I'm buying the SF expansion pack today, since I already have BF2 installed, will installing SF overwrite it? After when I'm done installing, will there be a desktop icon seperate from the BF2 icon, or are they two in one.

Don't worry, everything will be good, you'll have two desktop icons.

Installing Special Forces reverts your BF2 back to the 1.1 (?) patch, so I think you'll have to reinstall some of them. Let others answer this better.

So after I install SF, I just reinstall the 1.41 patch right?

yeh basically

you have BF2, so SF will put you to 1.1, then after that just use the full patch to 1.41 and your good to go


and yes you get a seperate icon on your desktop for SF

I had th exact same question...i bought SF... so just install over patch 1.41.Brings BF2 to 1.1 then reinstall the 1.41 patch.I also installed EOD and the unlocks(Folkes) for BF2 single player.Should I uninstall those too?

na, i wouldnt worry about uninstalling mods, you should be fine.

also after installing SF and re-patching, if you get the shader error see the sticky thread in this forum on how to fix it.
