    firewall issues

    Hello to all.

I recently had to reinstall my firewall (zonealarm security suite) after reformatting my HD. Prior to the reformat, all was working perfectly. Since I reinstalled it, I'm having issues connecting fully to BF2. The problem is that I'm unable to connect to the server, and therefore my stats are not being recorded during game play.
I have run some tests and determined that it is the firewall causing these issues. Once I turn off ZA, I have no problems at all. When ZA is turned back on, the problem returns.
I have posted requests on ZA forums, but nobody has been able to provide any answers. All of the options in ZA as far as connecting to servers, and allowing my computer to act as a server are activated!

If this issue sounds familiar to anybody out here, I'd really appreciate hearing from you with any solutions.

    Thank you in advance.

Check to make sure that BF2 has permission to 'Access' and 'Server'. If nothing else, you could just disable the firewall while you play BF2.

      Re: firewall issues

I do realize that I can just disable the firewall, it's just that I prefer to have that little extra protection during game play. I'm just scratching my head trying to understand why this is happening!]

Bye the way, I do have the options active for your suggestions!

      Thanks though.

      Cheers

I know its a bit of a palaver mate, but have you thought about resetting your exceptions list in ZA Firewall settings?
