Problem with BF2 black screening, then exiting.....

I bought BF2 about 4 months ago. It has always worked fine. Starting about 2 days ago, anywhere from 10-20 minutes into a round, it will either freeze and require hard reboot, or it will freeze for about 3 or 4 seconds, and suddenly exit out to the desktop. I have reinstalled drivers for my video card, and I have defragmented my hard drive. I've also completely uninstalled BF2 and reinstalled, including the patches. I am running a GeForce Go 6100. A gig of ram. AMD Turion 64 duo core 1600 mhz. I would greatly appreciate any help.

Try updating punkbuster etc

Pull off the access covers (I assume its a laptop since turion == mobile) and blow it out with compressed air if it is more than a few months old. Update punkbuster too.

sounds like an overheating issue!!! Graphics card is getting too hot and shutting down or your cpu could also over heat and black screen to protect the computer from damage. (Usually a computer will shutdown at 70-72 degrees C)
I had that issue when I first overclocked my system and it got to hot!

If you are using a notebook....also invest in a cooling mat!!!!
