after all the stats problems, i just have to ask something...

would you continue to command if the stats were just dropped? i know thats rather hypothetical, but i would like to know. i find commanding to be quite boring.

probably not there is not much fun it it I only do it because it needs to be done to win and I can watch TV while doing it.

I would continue to play the way I do now. I command only if the team needs SOMEONE to command. I'd rather be on the front lines shooting, but I know a little something about issuing commands and where to place UAVs and arty strikes.

It's not about the points, it's about the win. This is the first game I've played that had stats like this. UT2K4 had stats, but it was more about making yourself better with the weapons as opposed to being of a higher rank than someone else. I play for the win.

i did command quite a few times when the stats were on hiatus....i was a more 'active' commander though...i thought it was a lot more fun playing that way rather than hiding the entire round.

Sometimes commanding is very profitable point-wise, especially when you've got a small number of players.

All depends on the team and their ability to follow orders just as it did before the stats were ****ed.

If people just refuse to listen to orders or squad up i drop out of commander so i can have some fun.

no disrespect but for all you guys that say you watch tv and smoke cigarettes and walk away while you command, remind me to mutiny you if i'm ever playin with you because the commander spot really requires your complete attention if youre going to be doing your job well. Ask patton if he watched American Idol while he fought the nazis, ask schwarzkopf if he walked away from the battlefield so he could make some pop tarts. I have over 200 hours of command time and i go right in the front lines to command, because the biggest part about commanding is getting a good feel of the battle before you. I mostly run and gun because i like to preempt the enemies attack and create distractions and diversions to spread the enemy out a little thinner and so that my teammates can flank the enemy and rack up the easy kills, but never at the expense of doing my job. The commander spot is one of the most unique roles in the game where you have to have complete command over the battlefield, a good or bad commander can make or break the game. I obviously like the fact that a good commander will get rewarded for a job well done by getting the times 2, but if the stats were gone all together, perhaps you would see less commanders who just walk away from the pc, and you'd see a commander who actually did their job.

you do realize that this is a video game, don't you?

anyways...
1. good commander doesnt = win --people who commit to capturing flags and defending win games.
2. commanding while fighting = ridiculous --your "diversions" probably don't do much to help you win.
