BF2 won't load, no matter what.

Everytime I load BF2, it comes up with the splash screen, then to a black screen, then exits. If I set the screen in properties to 0, it comes up with this error:

    -

    Debug Assertion Failed!
    -somestuffhere-
Text: Failed to load D3DX9d_24.dll, we need to avoid the April 2005 DxSDK bug(recursive call on parsing some .fx files (skinnedmesh.fl)

    -
    (v1.0.244.0)
I have reinstalled DirectX 9.0c, downloaded the plug-ins, restarted my computer, did the process with Battlefield 2 in my documents, heck, it won't even let me uninstall it! I have searched 'splash page' on these forums and looked through 8 pages, I tried all their solutions, it didn't work. And yes, the resolution setting in that file is 800x600.

    Specs:
    Windows XP Home Edition 32bit
    Compaq Presario
    AMD Athlon(tm) XP 3000+
    2.10 GHz
    512MB RAM
    800x600 resolution
    NVIDIA GeForce FX 5100

      There's no other way?

For gods sake, this will be the most expensive game I've ever bought. I've never tried it, I just got it yesterday.

I also tried systemrequirementslab.com, it said my graphics card passed testing for BF2.

GET A JOB. You can get a new Nvidia 6200 for $39 dollars. Much better than the 5-series cards.

Or, even better, this card for example. Then you can run something newer than 2004 games. http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...2161&CatId=318

You might want to also get more RAM in that machine. 512 isn't going to run many new games titles very well. 1Gb is really the minimum these days, and 2Gb is ideal. Depends what your mobo can take tho.

^ I'll take that into consideration, although, 512 is the minimum for BF2 so I'm alright for now.

I've got a deal of $127 for a GeForce 7600GS (265MB), because it turns out that it's my video card, as an EA technician said.

$2 more for another 256MB of memory is a pretty good deal at the link I gave. Either way, you'll like the performance boost.
