In general, if there is a friendly spawn point nearby, jump right in and fight. If you're leading your squad to a remote flag, lag back, hide and provide a forward spawn point for your squad mates to keep the heat on the enemy. If you're doing the latter and your squad mates aren't smart enough to realize what you're doing, kick them from the squad...they're too stupid to be of use.

I stay out of sight and act as a spawn point, if my squad is getting raped I will come out of hiding and provide SOME cover fire but nothing to risky since anytime I'm SL we stay far behind enemy lines.

I generally go for the farthest bases and work my way back in towards the enemy so if I die my squad and I have to make that 90 mile hike all over again.

Also depends on your personality.
For instance i can be patient but it does not last, so if your like me when you get on sit back aim for fewer deaths and fewer points, as you start to lose patience jump in there and kick *** lol....
Also more interesting doing both.

I position myself in where I think is the least likely spot I'll be seen. Eventually, the UAV will give you away, and staying out of that depends on the map. Some have a sweep that covers a good third of the map. Also, the scan will inevitably bring an "infantry spotted" on you, so your squad has to be quick about capping.

I'm kind of at a loss as to which kit to play as squad leader. Everybody respawns okay, so medic is out. I guess supply is good, since you can (if successful) resupply after the cap. Also, you can lay back and provide grenades if your squad wants to sit on a perimeter and rake in points...the Hill at Mashtuur leaps to mind.

But, back to the point. When I started leading squads in earnest, I had to go back over in my mind the lay of the land for each flag on each map. It takes some forethought. I choose a place and head straight for it. Sometimes, newer players lay back with you, instead of persisting on the flag. I hate to make them feel bad...but that's the idea. I get no kills, you cap the flag. Stay out of the capping zone. Also, if a flag gets a lot of sudden attention, hold your squad out of the cap zone, until company moves on. Give them some time to get away from the area, then go for it again.

I played sniper, stayed back and hidden and picked off targets of opportunity to good effect recently. Usually I'm medic and follow my squad in about 5m behind and preparing to heal &/ revive which doesn't do my Kill/Death ratio a deal of good. Normally, the guys get the idea and we all get along pretty good. If not, hey they can always join another squad.

My preference is to be on a hill near the flag with my M95!! I am close to the flag for my squad members to spawn on me, and I am under cover so I am not an easy targer (unless someone is using and aimbot). I am also able to provide spotting for my squad and provide good cover...or at least take enemies down to 4 pts of health (gotta love the M95)!!!

I sit near the flag as a spawn point till the area is clear and the flag is almost all the way down. Then I come in to grab the assist points.

depends how many people are with you and how many enemys are at the flag stay back a little but dont just hide. set up some type of trap.

basically u have to be more sneaky and hang back at appropriate times so your squad can spawn on you again. but you will still see me attacking flags when i can get away with it (not dieing).

A good squad leader will stay back a bit to provide a spawn point for his unit. Than once the flag has been taken, should move in and finish off the remaining enemies near the base.
