Squadleader position attacking a flag ????

Guys

I was a squadleader last night(infantry only ) and of late when attacking a flagg I have been hanging back so my squad can respawn on me and we accomplish the goal. A few of my squad did not like this .

Where do you posistion yourslef when attacking a flagg as squadleader ?

I believe you can attack the flag along with your squad or stay at a nearby place safe from enemies so your squad can spawn by you when they get killed.

you've got it right. Blackhawks and parachutes over a flag point create wonders.

Depends on several factors:

--> Number of players in your squad.
--> Time (is it better to skip the flag real quick or play it safe...)
--> Your personal preference? Playing for points / win ?
--> The whole situation of the round....importance of the flag....

In the end, it's totally up to you. If people don't like what you're doing, they can still open up their own squad or just leave.

totally depends where it is. for example, when i'm on dragon valley as U.S., i'll just go for the river village, but if i manage to get to the refinery, i hide and let my squad do the honors.

i personally don't see any problem with what you were doing. if you are simply playing for fun and to win, and not the points, then what you did was fine. if i had wanted to be selfish and gain the 4 points for a full flag cap, i would have a substantially higher amount of flag caps than i do.
you can never be too cautious, so hanging back to cover your squad and assess the situation is fine. once it gets neutral and it is clear, then i will move in. i mean, im not talking about being miles away, but more in a nearby hidden location.
As for the blackhawk spawn, yes it can be very effective, providing your dumb *** squad members catch on to what you are actaully doing:laugh: so many times have i had squad members shouting on Voip "land FFS!"

You can sit back and rape the spawns. Believe me, if you are a SL you can rack up some serious points while your members act like decoys (S@KARKY IO strat). But then again you need a close to full squad that actually follows you

I like to stat close enough to take sniper shots and I cover my squad, but far enough if I am spotted and possibly killed a medic can revive me.

I position myself so I have a complete control over at least one spawnspot so that any spawning enemy would be mowed down. I also play either as a medic or support when I lead a squad. Sometimes AT.

Dao 12 + SRAW/Eryx = Ownage. And alot of angry ppl who cant be revived after you killed them.

As bulzenschneider was saying it depends on several things like...

How many squad members and how many are medics?
How many flags does the enemy have?
How much support from other squads do you have?
What map and what flag are you attacking?
How many people on server?

So based on that lets say hypothetically you are squad leader and you are attacking the Fountain Flag as US on full 64 player server on Road to jelly bad. Your team has Lake and Outpost, the enemy has the rest.

Your squad has 3 medics and 2 support. You have 2 other full squads giving support the rest are trying for other flags.

OK so in this situation I would most likely try get on the roof by fountain where I can stay in the flag radius while my squad members spawn and kill inf.

It will probably be a quite hard to get there because of a lot of enemy forces, might die along the way but 3 medics and 2 support spawning on you should prob be alright. If it fails more then once there is another roof top not far away that is also a good tactical spawn position and good place to pick of the enemy while you squad gets in the flag radius. Unfortunately when I go this position half my squad members usually just want to stick next to me and kill also when they should be getting in the radius. Happens so much when I am hanging a little bit back, but what can you expect from a pub server.

If I am attacking Outpost on Jellybad, usually will be positioned just outside the perimeter sand bags, using the sand bags as cover and popping up and killing inf as my squad gets in the radius. If attacking Market, I will be on the high ground. Hotel I will be in the building shooting threw the windows, if spotted, enemy usually throw nades, just run to the roof and wait for them to come up so you can pwn them.
Junkyard and Mosque cbf hanging back on those flags but might go around the back if there is a lot of resistance.

I usually finish the round with around 30 kill 5 death as squad leader if playing properly and not ****ing around. My squad members generally work hard to keep me alive because they appreciate the good tactical spawn positions. I do the same when I have a good squad leader.
