firewall lag issues

hi
i run zonealarm in game mode but its wayyyyyy laggy all of a sudden
think i might just use a dedicated pc with only bf2 on it so i dont have to run a firewall......anyone else have firewall issues?

I close / disable my firewall before I play any games.

Yeah, sometimes i have avg running in the background and it goes laggy all of a sudden for some reason, and it isnt running a scan. Just shut whatever firewall you have and youll be killing without lag in no time.
