How do you do this part?

if your screen goes black and the box floats around it means your monitor cannot display that resolution, when BF2 starts. have you changed the res in bf2 settings? check out support section for help it will show you how to edit your shortcut to display native 800/600 which your monitor should definately support.

Look in your document folder for the BF folder.
Find your profile and in there is the video .con.
open it with notepad, find the res and change it back then save...
