  • Upgrade form ATI X1300Pro to X1950Pro

I upgraded my system from 1300 to 1950. I was able to play 1300 on the lowest quality. With the new card I can not play BF2 at all any more. It crashes all the time. I know I did install the card the right way (vista's rating of my graphics went up from 4.2 to 5.9 plus my FPS in CS:S are over 180 during the stress test.)

Any ideas what is going on?

You sure you uninstalled the old drivers correctly?

right PSU is a must, if i looked up our card correct this is what it said you must have (below).

Connection to the system power supply is required:
450-Watt power supply or greater, 30 Amps on 12 volt rail recommended (assumes fully loaded system)

have you checked to make sure no conflicts in the device manager? got the latest driver? it must be something simple. best-a luck

I have an X1950pro and TBH you need a PSU rating of at least 500w and don't forget it needs an additional cable plugged into it the six pin thing which I can't remember what its technical name is

if you are upgrading a dell... the best card you can get is a 7600 gs or x1600xt without a psu upgrade. a 7600 gs will play this game fine
