Holy crap!!! I'm Blind!!!

I had a run-in with a flashbang grenade when playing yesterday. I was playing regular BF2 and it took me by surprise. I went into nOOb mode and just started hurling grenades in all directions. The flash began to wear off and I was promptly killed by a claymore as I was running blind down the streets of Karkand. Must have been entertaining for the people watching. Good news is that I managed to hurt someone and got a damage kill assist.

Can anyone tell me how flashbang grenades made it into a regular game of BF2?

People who own SF can use their SF unlocks in vBF2.

When you unlock the 2nd tier assault kit weapon, the F2000, you get flash bangs.

I have SF loaded and have not yet played it. This definitely changes things a bit. Is there anything else that will be showing up? Maybe I should just wait and be surprised again. It was kind of exhilerating.

They're a pain in the arse if one goes off near you, but they're awesome when you're using them.
