What's Happening with Punkbuster and Battlefield 2?

I host a lot of Battlefield 2 servers since a last year, on the latests months we are having lots of complains about cheaters Joining our servers, Commander Hack, M S X, etc etc...

All my servers are streaming to the MBL and also having the heviest CFGs available acording to PunksBusted.com

BUT, there is no way to catch the hackers, we cant spend 5 hours each day reviewing Punkbuster screenshots to catch *** or Commander hacks, so what is happening on Punkbuster HQ? there is no updates for the software (server side) since a long time ago...

We cant win the fight against the cheaters IF the only anti cheat available for BF2 is not working at all against the next gen cheats and hacks.

I agree. I've been noticing much more WTF kills lately. For instance i'm hiding under the stairs at wake, didn't even cap the spawn yet, and some jet going full speed fires a burst right into the thing and kills me from 300 meters away. Is there a new hack out or are players really that good?

thats not a hack that is just a random strafe run into the building. i always try to strafe that spot because thats one of the spots i would hide too.

But I do agree, I play I/O karky a lot and have noticed a huge increase in "WTF" kills lately, especially since the stat server went down. Reality is that more and more people are glitching (I catch them in the act) and it seems hackers are beginning to populate more servers. Everytime I see the SVD my eye brow raises and I usually spend the rest of my game testing that player to see if he is just someone who likes the SVD or something else...

I dont understand people who glitch/hack. What is possibly so satisfactory out of having a huge unfair advantage over everyone? What does it prove - That you can dominate when you abuse the game? I can say from experience of playing with cheats in single player campaign games like Age of Empires two/Galatic civilizations etc etc that the hacks loose there fun right away which is why I always look at these losers who choose to use hacks to win as short term morons in one server out of many...

Ps. I think the most addictive hack ever outthere was MH and boting for D2 - Nothing better than coming to your char the next day after a few hundred runs on meph hoping to id a unique ring as a soj =P Then of course I got barred lol. Oh well, that game is sucks without MH anyways.

I was recently Commander-hacked.

I was the Chinese Commander at Wake, and MY arty would fire right onto the runway, killing our guys and getting ME kicked for teamkilling. OOOOhhh, annoying!!:cussing:

This happen to anyone else? PB just isn't enough...

Theres nothing wrong with PB, persay. They just need to be more aggressive at finding newer cheats and updating accordingly.

I've been playing a lot of IO Jalalabad recently, and I've also noticed A LOT of those "WTF" kills. Like someone said... I only noticed this since the stat server's been down. Never had a problem like this before.

Oh, and I witnessed my first commander hack the other day on IO Karkand...

I've only been playing a couple weeks so I don't know if its any worse right now than before, but I've been really pissed on a few servers. One of the most frustrating was enemy artillery launching every 5 or 10 seconds back to back for about 5 minutes. And stupidly, couldn't get enough votes to kick him.

Once and a while on the random 24/7 wake I see the spamming of UAV or cars. Nothing to severe. I dont like cheaters. Dont get me wrong. It just seems that I have had to stay home on our HBD server. I love it. Come check it out.

You'd be amazed to see how many people accuse me of "hacking" of some sort especially on IO karkand and its the same accusation every time .... hes aimbotting!!! not my fault I know how to use the M16 which to me has to be the best gun even better than the G36E.

Everytime I see someone its usually 1-2 burst with the M16 and trust me....i click that thing so fast that some even start saying that I have a full auto M16


and whats even better is im only a mediocre player....now if you find those CAL/ TWL people...now youll have something to worry about because with them its almost always insta head shot with skills

I've noticed the commander hacks a lot more often. Typically having a bunch of cars dropped or being able to have supplies drop every 15 seconds. Also on Jalalabad people glicthing and hiding in the building across from the Hotel.

OK listen to this....
Yesterday i heard a Granate Launcher from F-2000 ( i think its called one of the unlocks ) i has nade launcher... and i heard nadd Luncher shoot automaticly many times ... poof , poof, poof, poof ,poof like at least 10 times i think it was the guy walking 4 meters next to me ... and yes it was nade launcher i heard for sure
and afterward i told him what i heard and he laughed and put a smile face on the squad chat...
anyone seen something like this before ? i havent
it may have been a cheat

That's a sound glitch, not a hack... the same happend some times with the medic paddles "cle cle cle cle cle cle cle CLEAR"... sound glitch again.

I joined a server about a week ago and there was probably 100 supply crates on the map. I just left.

Obviously the hacks used are undetected, so it's not a problem with Punkbuster. Get a few more admins to monitor it? I don't know what to tell you.

On this topic too. I got accused for the first time of cheating this weekend. At the accident in Karkand, I killed seven people as they approached. They didn't see me as I was to their right and the immediate threat was coming from in front of them. The same group of people attacked a second time moments later and I got five of them. It's somewhat satisfying to get accused of cheating when you're just having a good game.
