BF2 Crashing? Weird

This started happening right after I installed the Highway Tampa map.

I Downloaded the map from the EA Games server and installed it.

Then Went to go run my BF2 and everything went fine until I tried

to connect to a server. When I tryed to connect to any server it crashes me to

the desktop. So then I deleted the Highway Tampa map and reinstaled it

still the same problem. Then I tryed playing with the map deleted and still

the same problem occured. I then tryed playing single player and everything

runs fine. Pretty weird.


Any info or suggestions would be great thanks.

You could try ...
Uninstall the map, and do a system restore from a date just prior to the first time you installed the map. Then reinstall a fresh copy. If its a registry issue, that should fix it, without reinstalling the whole game and such. Its a simple fix to try first, before really tearing into it.

I'm having the same problem

i start loding a server and it drops me out onto my desktop

im running the V1.4 patch but i havent installed that map

I am also having the same problem. I just reinstalled it and it has the 1.41 patch. IT gets to about 35% of connecting to the server and it brings me to my desktop.
