Need help unlocking weapons in v1.4

Hi everybody.
I`m new here and this is my first post.
I have battlefield 2 and playing from a very long time but only single player as i have a dial-up connection and can not play online.
Before patching (version 1.0) i unlocked all weapons using an easy text editing but after updating to v1.4 i can not use locked weapons.
Is there any way (mod or something) that allow me to use locked weapons in version 1.4?
I don't use any mod, just default battlefield2.
I just play single player and update to version 1.4 to be able to player co-op with my brother on LAN with some bots.
Please help.

Is that safe to do? will the game not mess up or ban be for modifying files?

It will only work on singleplayer so now worries. It creates a shortcut for the "mod" too, even if you tried looking for multiplayer games when using it, you won't find any.

Well First you would need SF. If you do then your set. I do think there is a mod out there yes. Cant provide link because Im lazy. If you want it though, you will find it. Sorry!

The SF mod is cool but you cant use your knife or pistol.

Once you have the mod installed you can always modify the kits yourself to put the knife/pistol back.

Not dumb at all. It isn't terribly difficult but it isn't trivial if you've never done it before.

You basically need to open the objects_server.zip file and edit the kit files (which have a .con extension but are just text). The files are normally marked as read-only so you may need to extract them, clear the RO flag, edit them, and drag back into the archive.
(I usually use 7-Zip http://www.7-zip.org/ to open archives.)
It can get more tricky if you want to move weapons into different slots in the kit; that's the main topic of the thread I linked to.

Thanks but could you explain what you meant by deleating the RO and all that other stuff? I changed the number that will change the slot of my weapons but it has not changed. I did not change anything else. Thanks and sorry if I am taking up your time.

If you're editing FFOLKES' modded kit files you probably don't need to worry about the read-only. The original files are RO but modders usually remove it and don't reset it since it isn't really needed.

What exactly did you change? What line in what file? And did you put the modified file back in the zip in the same folder?
