sniper view distance??

ok so I saw a few videos of people getting sniper kills at like 500m

I play the game at max with 100% view distance and I cant see a guy at like 400m

I dunno why, it was on kubra, is it different on other maps??

view distances vary from map to map....

Try 700m shots on Dalian. Love it.

Its a teamkill not a regular kill. That means even if he couldn't see the soldier he might have been able to line him up in the HUD. I don't really know, but if it was legit, then def. props to the sniper.

Pred, it's different on all maps. Kubra and Dragon pose a big problem to me.

How many shots/tries did it take to hit your amigo?

The fog on some of the maps is really annoying when you're trying to shoot long distances. I don't think there is a way to remove the fog though unless you modify some files, but then you'll get kicked off servers.

I've always wondered how on some maps people can see me, yet I can't see them. This mostly happens with snipers or solo-whores in the chopper.

I also play with the view distance at 100. The rest of my video settings are on high. Could having the ability to run higher settings actually just screw you?

Kinda like having more shadows for people to hide in on Karkand, you know...
I don't see why it would, but it is BF2.

I've learned that Anisotropic Filtering plays a hand in this as well. If you have an nVidia card with the nVidia Control Panel, you can set the Anisotropic Filter to 16x. It's a huge drag on the system and your frames will drop, but if all you do is snipe, it shouldn't be too bad.

The longest i have sniped was 396M with the type 88 on dragon v.
And i got a head shoot in one, but i think i had alot of luck that day
